Stocks Wood Outdoor Centre can deliver a half term programme to enhance your home school curriculum. Delivered by a qualified teacher and qualified Forest School leaders, sessions promote learning across a range of academic subjects as well as through child-led activities and play in an outdoor setting.

Using the Forest School model of learning, our fun activities support reading, writing, maths and science as well as music, geography, and more.

Your children will become more self-confident, recognising and managing risks in an outdoor environment that rewards curiosity.

We provide a range of activities and can tailor them to the specific needs of your child. Many favourite activities include:

  • Shelter building - using a range of knots and learning about woodland management

  • Fire - fire lore, construction and cooking

  • Tools - safely and confidently using a range of tools including knives and billhooks

  • Games and investigations

  • Natural art and crafts

  • 'Flow time' - free play using a range of natural and man-made resources
