October Half Term Holiday Club 2017 Blog & Photos

We had a great afternoon with our first customers since Saturday's Open Day. The girls loved exploring the woodland, played '1, 2, 3 where are you?', found lots of aquatic life when pond-dipping, made super fairy houses and a hedgehog house, learnt how to make a fire and of course enjoyed our famous Forest School hot chocolate.

This morning's girls explored the woodland and discussed shape names when thinking about perimeters. They loved hiding when playing '1,2,3 where are you?'. Fairy Lane inspired them to make their own fairy and hedgehog houses. Lots of perseverance paid off with super structures made. Wildlife was introduced to the bug hotel and hot chocolate was enjoyed. The climbing and apparatus and swings were shared and to finish off, one of the girls who had been to our open day demonstrated how to make fire with a flint and steel (Dragon's Breath).

Today we had lots of happy, muddy children who explored the woodland boundaries, played '1,2,3 where are you?', made clay hedgehogs and goblins, pond -dipped, drank hot chocolate, climbed trees, played '5 up' and lit fires. In the afternoon they learnt knots and lashes, learnt how to use loppers safely, made teepee dens, played more games and chose activities that they wanted to do in 'flow time'. We reviewed the session with a camp fire ceremony.
